Established in 1994, Areni Wine Factory is one of the elders and most well-established wine structures in the area. The winery has welcomed some 30,000 interested sightseers anually. A tour of the manufactory contains a walk through the basement where wine is aged in massive oak barrels, followed by a tasting of the winery’s selection of traditional and fruit wines. In an upstairs dining area, guests can order coffee or tea and watch a short video about the Armenian winemaking tradition and the history of the company. Lunch and lavash making master class on site can be arranged with advance noticed. A small craft shop offers souvenirs and handmade gifts as well as a selection of wines for purchase.
